Peter White

Peter White was born in 1941 and after a local education, attended the Margate and

Canterbury colleges of Art on the three year N.D.D. course in Graphic Design.

Graduating in 1959 he worked as a Designer and Art Director in Design Groups and

Advertising Agencies in London and the Thames Vallery, later specialising in Illustration.

Returning to Broadstairs in 1993, Peter took up full time painting, concentrating on coastal scenes,

emphasising special effects of skies and water and the reflection of boats and cliffs.

 

Influenced by the watercolour artists of the 19th Century, including Turner, Girtin, Cox and Parkes Bonnington

and the later artists of the 20th Century, such as Brown, Lavery, Steer and Edward Seago.
